The Institute of Neuropathology and Neuromolecular Pathology is actively involved in academic teaching and offers a wide range of educational opportunities for students of Human Medicine, Molecular Medicine, and related disciplines.
Seminars and Lectures
Our courses include both theoretical and practical formats. In the fields of Human Medicine and Molecular Medicine, the teaching content is adapted to the latest scientific developments and tailored to the knowledge level of the students. This ensures that students gain a solid understanding of neuropathological and molecular relationships.

Our teaching portfolio includes both theoretical and hands-on courses for students of Human Medicine, Molecular Medicine, and related fields. All teaching content is based on the latest scientific knowledge and is adapted to the students’ level of education.
The Institute of Neuropathology and Neuromolecular Pathology actively contributes to the teaching program at the Medical University of Innsbruck and is involved in the compulsory practical courses Module 2.26 – Microscopic Pathology I and Module 2.35 – Microscopic Pathology II. These practical courses are held during both the winter and summer semesters at the institute located at Müllerstraße 44 and provide students with practical insights into diagnostic pathology, neuropathology, and molecular pathology.
Participation in Degree Programs
The institute plays a key role in the Extension Program in Medical Sciences, coordinated by Priv.-Doz. Dr. Claudia Manzl. This program is designed for students who wish to gain advanced scientific expertise alongside their medical studies.
Supporting the Next Generation of Scientists
We warmly welcome Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD students from relevant academic disciplines. The institute offers a wide range of opportunities for research projects, clinical electives (Famulaturen), Bachelor’s, Master’s, Diploma, and doctoral theses within an interdisciplinary research environment. Students benefit from close supervision and active involvement in ongoing research projects.
